While using EZ Drummer and subsequently Superior Drummer, I’ve wanted to collaborate with other musicians and not have to bring my laptop with me to their studios. But I find both versions to be the best of their kind on the market today. Superior Drummer gives you the added perk of full audio editing capabilities. Both are state-of-the-art, sample-based drum software synthesizers that allow you to record or play live with just about any drum sound imaginable. Superior Drummer and its little brother, EZ Drummer, are prevalent amongst home and professional studios everywhere. One of the tools I use to record is Toontrack’s Superior Drummer.
Today’s home recording studios can produce quality recordings that were once only achieved by spending a ton of money in a professional studio. For all of us active musicians out there, playing live or recording in the studio is drastically different now than it was years ago. There’s no doubt that computers are a big part of everyone’s lives.
